With 37 years in the field of education, Gary Reynolds believes that the Sheridan County School District #1 board of trustees must provide resources and opportunities to meet the needs of students today while also developing and supporting a clear vision for the future. Prior to joining the board, he was a high school and middle school science teacher and a high school principal for 10 years, and a superintendent in Kansas and Nebraska for the following 24 years. Reynolds earned a a BS in biology from Pittsburg State University (Kansas), and ME in education administration from Wichita State University, a doctorate of education from Oklahoma State University. He lived in California while serving in the Navy, and was a Lion’s Club member for 17 years and a Rotary member for 11. Reynolds and his wife have four children, ages 41, 39, 34 and 28, who they raised in Wyoming, Kansas and Nebraska. The three eldest graduated from Kansas State University and the youngest graduated from the University of Nebraska. Reynolds and his wife retired and settled in Dayton in 2010.
