Tongue River Middle School
“Mutual Respect, Mutual Responsibility”
Welcome to Tongue River Middle School! Our motto of “Mutual Respect, Mutual Responsibility” means every single person on the TRMS team (staff, students, and parents/guardians) is in this together; to treat one another with respect and accept our individual responsibility to lead by example every day! When we do this, we create the ideal environment for teachers to teach, and students to learn.
My name is Jeff Jones and I am honored to be the Tongue River Middle School Principal. This is my 26th year in education; 17 of those have been at the middle school level. I have served as a teacher, school counselor, and school principal. I realized pretty quickly that I really loved the middle-level experience; not just the students, but the entire philosophy that encompasses what we call “middle-level education.” For students, it can often be a time of extreme highs and lows. It is common for them to experience some growing pains, but with a lot of support, they begin to become more and more confident young people as they head off to the high school.
As a parent, I understand the feeling of sending your child off to middle school and hoping they are safe, treated well, and will get a great education. As the principal at TRMS, my pledge to you is to do everything I can each day to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for your child. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school. My office phone number is 655-9533 ext. 4107 or you can drop by the school and visit in person. Your feedback is always welcome. My hope is that you, and your child, will come to see that our motto of “Mutual Respect, Mutual Responsibility” is a motto in action every day at TRMS!
Jeff Jones, Principal
